In The Shelter of Your Wings, O LORD

April 28, 2011

Storm clouds and high winds march across the flatland of the southeast. Trees sway and fears rise as we watch doppler radar. We can almost see fate on the horizon. Where can we go but to God? Hear the cries of your people, O LORD. Come as comfort; come as calm. Give your people peace and guide us to safety in the shelter of your wings. For all the children to whom the sounds of wind are reminders of a killer day not long past, we pray a special blessing, a special peace. Our only security is in You. We are humbled in your power and hopeful for your mercy. Hide us in the shelter of your wings; keep us as the apple of your eye. Our hope is in You, LORD. Do not leave us alone in the storm. Amen.
