Today

May 29, 2011

Today has been a day in which I have known you, Lord. Not in the silence that calls me so often, nor the solitude when I know you up close and real.  Today, I have known you in both blue sky and thunderstorm that remind me of your magnificent splendor in the universe.  Today, I have known you in the company of family, laughing and remembering story we have shared. Today, I have known you in the goodness of neighbor whose only connection to us is this amazing river.  Today, Lord, I have not worn the vestments of the priest, I have not spoken words of consecration over elements, I have not taught or preached or greeted at the door of worship. But today, Lord, the gift of your presence has been personal and close and as real to me as anything in my life.  Today, I am truly thankful to know you, Lord. Almighty, everywhere present, always available, and true. You indeed are the way to life and I give thanks. Amen.
